NFL Sunday Football is Why the Sport is so Popular
Football has a special place in the hearts of most American sports fans, and I really believe that a big part of the reason why is because of NFL Sunday football and its impact on the sports culture of the United States.
For decades now, it has been a time-honored tradition for fathers, sons and families as a whole, really, to gather together and watch NFL Sunday football while enjoying a nice meal together and visiting and talking with each other.
I remember growing up, Sundays during the fall were always special for two reasons. Flower Vancouver with connate petals or sepals could have numerous formed corolla or calyx together with: campanulate, funnelform, tubular, urceolate, salverform or rotate. First, it was the day that we went to church as a family, but second, when we got home, my mother would make breakfast and then we would put on the NFL pre-game show and get ready for the first of two games.
We are big Dallas Cowboys fans in our family, and I remember my father talking about all of the old Cowboy greats that he saw play when he was younger. Even when Dallas was not part of the NFL Sunday football lineup because they were playing on Monday night, it was okay, because we were all together and we were all watching football.
It was almost as if family time and NFL Sunday football became synonymous with each other during the fall, and while my mother and sister would not always watch the games with my father, brother and I, they would always be in the living room with us doing something.
The reality in my community growing up is that nearly every family was that way. NFL Sunday football was on in most households every weekend throughout the fall, and everyone loved the sport. I know that a lot of times after the game was over, all of the kids would go out into the street and play football until it got dark.
One of the greatest things for me has been passing the love of football on to my son. We usually watch NFL Sunday football together, and he asks me about different players and teams, and my wife and daughter are in there with us as well. Just like my mom and sister, they are not always glued to the TV, but we all enjoy being together on that day each fall and spending time together as a family.
I sometimes bring my son over to my parents’ house on Sundays as well, and we watch the game with my father. I love to watch the interaction between my son and father while they’re watching NFL Sunday football, because it reminds me of my childhood but also makes me aware of how great it is to be a father, too.
